A wick trimmer is essential for anyone that burns candles. Not only is trimming your wick between burns a safety practice, it also extends the life of the candle! To limit soot build up and reduce how fast your candle will burn, always trim your wicks to 1/4" before use. See more info below regarding candle care.

Candle Care

When you first burn your candle, plan to let it melt for 2 hours or until the wax has pooled all the way to the sides of the vessel.

Always burn your candle on a heat-safe surface.

Keep your wick trimmed to .25" (1/4-inch) for safe burning.

Always keep candles away from tiny humans and beloved pets.

Want your candle to burn longer and with less soot? Ensure you trim the excess carbon buildup from your wick before each burn.

As your candle burns, carbon naturally accumulates on the wick. Relighting a wick with this buildup can lead to increased soot and heat, diminishing the candle's performance. This is the cause of the black smoke you may have seen clinging to the sides of your glass candles or even from the flame. This does not mean that you don't have a "clean-burning" candle. This means that there's an imbalance in the candle's heat and fuel, which is most-likely caused by a wick that needs to be trimmed back a bit.
